SATURDAY

I'm not going to lie about how I spend my Thursday evenings.
Skins is back.
First two episodes haven't been majorly impressive.
Think it's a bit lame, introducing the new character as a stalker (that's sooo series two!)
But, I hope it gets better.
Liking Emily's piercings.
Lots.
Also, doesn't it annoy you how on Skins any drug or quantity of drug costs £5?

Sooooo....

What's your verdict on series//4 of skins?
Rate it or slate it?

THURSDAY

Ok.
So.
Today I was off school again.
Dropping off my portfolio, doing a lot of travelling, helping at my dads studio and private viewing.
Decided to document the whole day on my phone up until now.
Prepare for photo overload.
Safe.

And that was my day.
How was yours?

TUESDAY

Some old sketchbook pages.
Love felt tips sososo much!
Especially really cheap ones from newsagents that dry up quickly and you have to lick them and then you get a purple tongue.
Brilliant!
Have a lovely day.

TUESDAY

I love Tatty Devine, there I said it.
I've accumulated a fair bit of their jewellery over the years.
The first piece I got was the plectrum charm bracelet, when I was ten years old. I thought I was the coolest kid in primary school.
Rosie + Harriet who run it are brilliant. They've got a new shop in Covent Garden - definitely worth checking out (they stock Eley Kishimoto stuff and lots of other goodies!). Also if you want a chuckle, check this out , very pre-braces!
The fish bone necklace is what my eyes are on next, but I am rather poot atm.

My sister is brilliant. She got me two cameras for £2.78.
Mental.
I've got quite snappy happy lately.
Picking up fisheye film on Thursday and will share results.

Hope you are having a lovely week chaps.

PS. glasses. and i have been converted to hareem trousers and tights-and-sandals - is this bad?!

SATURDAY

Found these images here and I thought they were too awesome not to share.

Anyway, hope you are having a nice weekend.
I am well full up, had a very fat wagamama dinner, but regardless I was eating chocolate hobnobs a few minutes ago.
Bit of a working weekend. Trotted down to Cass Art with my mum this morning to stock up on supplies. Been busy spray mounting and cutting and choosing for my portfolio (which colleges actually want to see!). I've been quite consumed by that lately, but it's good to be consumed every now and then, eh?
Decided to go for the orange glasses, picking them up on Monday.

Hope you are having a most lovely weekend

WEDNESDAY

Soooo many more good ones come to mind.
Oddly, The Shining is like one of my favourite films but I've only seen it 2 times.
Sadly all the Harry Potter photos were a bit tacky in my opinion, but its definitely up there.
Fave films chaps?
I'm curious.

MONDAY

Ok.
So, I don't really use this blog for personal stuff.
But, this is pivotal stuff.
Today, I went to the opticians and I'm torn between two pairs of glasses.
(please excuse my grumpy face)
I like both pairs (slightly more in favour of the orange/caramel ones) but the maroon ones are the same colour as my school blazer (but I'm only there for four more months).
Grrrr .....
I would really appreciate your opinion.
So please cast your vote
orange?
or
red?

thanksss

FRIDAY

Last month I received the Sartorialist book. Basically if you don't know what it's about, this guy Scott Schuman (who actually is really renowned in the fashion world) goes around taking photographs of "stylish" people across the world (mainly the schmashion capitals) and posting them on his highly influential blog .

After leaving the book in my front room for a while, my family started to flick through it ... which led to a brilliant game. Basically, whenever me and my dad are out together we play "Sartori-YES/NO/MAYBE" .... which basically consists of deciding what category we would group people into as we walk down the road and giving a commentary. I've scanned in some of my verdicts on the book and played the game. (***Check here out to see what gets Schuman turned on!)

*All images are courtesy of Penguin and Scott Schuman.*

I wouldn't exactly consider The Sartorialist genuine street style as most of the shots are of buyers, designers or models  shot during fashion week, so it isn't exactly authentic.
I quite like the Facehunter , as it isn't just middle aged men smoking cigars.

So .... what's your verdict on street style?

Have a lovely weekend

ps. What do you think of these kind of posts? If you'd like more of this sort of thing please say because I will take time to do it.

SATURDAY

I woke up today.
Had some chocolate euros for breakfast and some mango juice.
And my Mum was in springcleanmode, so I had to tidy my bedroom.
And I was rifling through my stationary drawer and I found this baby that I had forgotten about. (Ages ago my ma entered a photography competition at the v+a and won the camera and gave it to me, because she's laverly)

If you don't know what this freak of a camera is, it's a "supersampler".
Basically ... it has four lenses and there are two speeds avaliable  4 photos in 2 seconds (0.5 seconds/photo) or 4 photos in 0.2 seconds  (0.05 seconds/photo). Basically if your subject is moving or you move the camera, you get pretty awesome results.

all images below are from here.

Need to buy some film first, but I am rather excited.

Have a lovely weekend

Well, issue 14 is now out of the womb.
I'll be printing and stapling and folding furiously during private study next week.

And I would like to introduce you to this issues contributors....

MARTIN who is in my product design class at school. I think he's a eighty year old trapped in a eighteen year old's body!

AURIEN who I only met last year, but I think she is awesome and has the best legs in London!

CHARLOTTE LUCY has an adorable blog called unicorns and keeps smashing notebooks.

LIVVY from jointjumble who has fondness for typewriters.

JANE who does beautiful paintings and likes a good ol' carboot sale.

FLEUR DE LEAST, well that's her pen name. She's pretty close to me and prett-ay hilarious.

Be good.

*Edit: Whoops, I forgot to add some people to the list - but no fears all has been corrected now*

Good afternoon.

The face on the right is for my friend E, who is turning 18.

Caesar

If you have been reading the zine and the blog for a while now, you will know that I am a massive I Blame Coco fan (as is my mum!).
My first real 7" vinyl is by her, I remember getting her first single (limited of 500, dontcha know!) when I was like 15 and thinking that I was like the "shizzzle" - but none of my friends knew who she was, so it was a bit of a waste.
So, it's pretty awesome to see this video and to hear that her album will be released on Island records in the new year.
I can tell 2010 is going to be a smasher already!

SUNDAY

Well hello.
I hope you are having a smashin' yule.
Mine has been rather cool.
Saw Holmes at the cinema yesterday which was e-p-i-c.
I really wanted to see St Trinians 2 (because essentially I am a thirteen year old girl), but my parents and my sister were not having it.

Now.
How hot are those orange desert boots?
Yes, very.
I think they are Hobbs.
I saw them in Peter Jones when my Mum was looking for bed lining!
They were like £135 and I've spend enough on boots this month. So, I had to say bye bye - but I snuck a cheeky phone pic!

Also, I got a fisheye camera for christmas.
But don't expect snaps for ages.
Because it's film.
And I know it will take me forever to get round to developing!
Pretty exciting, eh?
Anyone get any cool presents?

Bye bye bye.

more posts very soon...

ps. I was playing nurse to my dad and sister the other day and we went to the Victoria + Albert museum and how awesome is the juxtaposition of henry hoover and the medeival + renaissance gallery?

Thursday, 24 December 2009

Because I really appreciate it and I think that it's fantastic!

Georgy Porgy

I'm not going to lie. I am a bit of a dreadful reader, considering I spend an hour a day doing English literature. But, I am romantic and optimistic - I always carry a book in my bag, even if I haven't got as far as page 7.
Kiss Kiss by Roald Dahl, I find especially easy to read (in the least insulting way possible).
Pretty macabre stuff.
Definitely a recommended read.
